You have thoughts all day. Then you tap a record button and suddenly can’t think of a single one. If that sounds familiar, give yourself a smaller starting point.

Your first bit can be about something that happened today. It doesn’t have to explain who you are.

Pick one small thing

Describe something you noticed. A song you played twice. A conversation that stayed with you. The best thing you ate this week.

For example: “I took a different route this morning and found a bookshop I’ve walked past for two years. They had exactly the book I was looking for.” That is enough for a bit.

Or answer someone

Sometimes a reply is easier than a first post. Listen to a bit, then answer the part you actually want to talk about.

You might have a related story, a different experience, or a question. You don’t need a position on the whole subject.

Listen back once

After recording, play your bit before you publish it. Check that people can hear you and that you said what you meant. If you want another try, re-record it.

A little background noise or an ordinary pause is okay. Find somewhere quieter if the words are hard to hear.

If you run out of time

Each bit stops at 20 seconds. You can add another bit to keep the story going, up to ten in a post. Or keep the first one and let the replies take it somewhere.

The post button is a separate step. You decide when it’s ready.
